systemic & family constellations sydney

Many of the challenges we face continue to repeat despite years of personal development, reflection or therapy. As a profound, relational and experiential form of somatic work, Systemic & Family Constellations helps uncover the patterns, relationships, and dynamics that may be shaping your life, often outside of conscious awareness. Through private sessions and workshops in Marrickville, Sydney, this process offers a grounded way to explore recurring challenges, gain clarity, strengthen trust in your own decisions, and discover new possibilities for moving forward.

How this modality can help you

It may be used to explore and address challenges within:

  • Your life (relationship problems, dysfunctional patterns, health issues, lack of money)

  • Your family of origin (your mum, dad, siblings, ancestral trauma)

  • Your current family (partner, ex-partner, children, relational dynamics)

  • Your body (disease, trauma)

  • Your inner world (archetypes, inner child/teenager, inner critic, your heart/soul/purpose)

  • Your business (business partners, transitions, branding)

Group Constellations Workshop

A one-day workshop where participants have the opportunity to bring their own issue to the work, as well as serve as a representative in others’.

In a group constellation, one person at a time explores a specific issue or question. Other participants are invited to stand in as representatives for family members, relationships, or other elements of that person’s system. Through this process, hidden dynamics become visible and something in the system begins to move toward resolution.

What makes the group format powerful is that representation works both ways. When you stand in for someone else’s system, you often find that something in your own is touched and shifted. You do not need to do your own constellation to receive something meaningful from the day.

Sessions are available a few times a year at the River Canoe Club in Marrickville.

One-to-One Constellation Session

This 75-minute session brings you into focused work on a specific issue or question. In a private setting, we explore the patterns and dynamics at play in your system, whether that relates to relationships, family, health, or a sense of being stuck, and work toward resolution and new understanding.

Instead of using people within the group as representatives, we may use objects, figurines, pillows or papers to represent and map the different elements of your system and explore how they relate.

Sessions are available in person at the River Canoe Club in Marrickville, at your home across Sydney, or online from wherever you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’d like to understand more about the theory and practice of this work before taking the next step, you’ll find more detail here.

No prior experience is needed. People come to this work from many different starting points, some have done years of personal development, others are completely new to it. What matters is that you are curious and willing to be present. The process will meet you where you are.

Both formats offer depth and insight, and the right choice depends on what feels most comfortable for you. A one-to-one session offers privacy and a focused exploration of your specific issue. A group workshop brings the added dimension of the collective intelligence that emerges when people work together. If you are unsure, feel free to get in touch and we can find the right fit together.

You share only what you are comfortable sharing. You do not need to explain your full history or background for the work to be effective. Systemic Constellations often works with very little information, what matters is what emerges in the room, not what is explained beforehand.

Responses vary from person to person. Some people feel a sense of clarity or lightness. Others feel reflective, tired, or emotionally moved. The work can continue to unfold in the days following a session, as the system integrates what has shifted. It is helpful to keep the time after a session relatively quiet if possible.

Systemic constellations is not psychotherapy and is not a substitute for it. It is a somatic, experiential practice that works with relational and systemic dynamics. Many people find it complements therapy or other personal development work well. If you are currently working with a therapist, it is worth letting them know you are exploring this work.

If you are currently in a mental health crisis, recently hospitalised, or in an acute phase of a psychiatric condition, this is not the right time for constellation work. The process can be moving and may bring up material that requires careful integration. If you are in ongoing treatment or working with a mental health professional, constellation work can complement that process well. In that case, it is worth letting your treating professional know you are considering this work, and feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about whether it is suitable for your situation.
